Clay Wheels Forge -2
by Firth Brown Ltd
This color video was taken in 1941 at Clay Wheels Lane in Sheffield, England. It was made by Thomas Firth and John Brown Limited to document one of the last steel forging shops that still ran on water power from the river Don. At the time, the forge was producing scythes for the agricultural industry. The music is from Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony.
