Hamlet Restoration Project
The photo of the hamlet dam shown above was taken when it was full of water. Anyone passing by this month will see this very different view.

The dam at Abbeydale Hamlet – drained for repair work

The dam is currently empty, having been drained to allow repairs to be made.

Work is also on-going on the restoration of the two main water wheels and the tilt hammer drive shaft in the forge. Twitter users can follow @hairyengineers to check on the progress of their work.
